The Open farm is only currently accessible to customers of the farm shop. HSE guidelines should be observed at all times.
The Open Farm gives our visitors a chance to meet our farm animals. You will be able to thank our chickens for their delicious eggs and meet Neddy and Danny, our donkeys, who are always ready to welcome visitors, especially those bringing carrots. Neddy and Danny used to live in the ‘Donkey Shed’, but kindly agreed to relocate when we decided to convert it to a restaurant.
Sharing a field with our donkeys are the ‘Cowdashians’, Kim and Khloe who are Black Angus heifers and our goats. Our billy goat, Steve, is so named due to his tendency to escape.
Newbarn Farm is home to five pigs, Oscar and Olivia, the small and hairy Kune-kune pigs, Andrea and Abigail, the black Vietnamese Pot Bellied pigs and Big Bessie our Tamworth cross sow. We also have geese and ducks, who wander freely and occasionally cause traffic jams as they cross the carpark looking for food. There is no additional charge to visit the Open Farm.
